Terms

The rules of using PayoutMath. Short and sensible — no clauses designed to catch you out.

What this site is

PayoutMath provides free US earnings calculators and explanatory content. It is provided as-is, for general information only.

Not professional advice

Nothing on this site is legal advice, tax advice, financial advice, accounting advice, or any other kind of regulated professional advice. We are not your accountant, solicitor, or financial advisor.

If a decision matters — registering for self-employment tax filing, deciding to incorporate, claiming specific reliefs, handling an IRS enquiry, anything where getting it wrong is expensive — get qualified advice from a professional who understands your full circumstances. PayoutMath is a starting point, not a substitute.

Accuracy

We work hard to keep numbers accurate. Every fee and tax band is sourced and dated. Source URLs are pinged monthly for changes. But:

  • Platforms change their fees with little notice
  • IRS publishes updates that take time to propagate
  • Bugs happen
  • Edge cases exist

Always verify numbers that matter against your actual platform invoices and IRS’s own guidance before making decisions.

Use of the site

You can use PayoutMath however you like for personal or business purposes. You don’t need permission to:

  • Use the calculators
  • Link to any page on the site
  • Quote short passages with credit and a link

Please do not:

  • Scrape the entire site to republish elsewhere
  • Pass the calculators off as your own
  • Modify and redistribute the source data without credit

Outbound links

We link to platforms (Etsy, eBay, etc.), IRS, and (in future) affiliate offers. We have no control over those external sites and aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy, or behaviour.

Affiliate links will always be clearly labelled. They do not affect what we recommend or how the calculators behave.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PayoutMath and its operator are not liable for any losses, damages, or consequences arising from your use of the site or reliance on any information here. Use the site at your own risk.

This doesn’t affect any rights you have under US consumer law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of United States. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of United States.
